bio – stuart popejoy

Stuart Popejoy is a bassist, keyboardist, composer and software developer, leader of the avant-riffmetal trio Bassoon, and collaborator in unique projects such as Sugarlife with Christian Dautresme and Day So Far with Sarah Bernstein. Stuart plays bass in the avant-jazz Sarah Bernstein Quartet with Satoshi Takeishi and Ron Stabinsky, and is the pianist in Pamelia Stickney’s Transcendental Dissonance chamber quartet with Danny Tunick and Sarah Bernstein. In 2017 Stuart released his major composed work Pleonid on Leo Records as well as Geologic Time with Chris Cochrane on Infrequent Seams. A native of Albuquerque New Mexico, Stuart lives in Brooklyn, NY.
